The story behind RJ Response

An innovative, time-saving solution for individuals, families and healthcare services

About us

RJ Response Services was created in 2015 by former Senior Prison Officer Rob Jackson, driven by a deeply personal experience when a family member suffered a stroke at home. Witnessing the challenges and delays in receiving help during such a critical moment profoundly impacted Rob, motivating him to understand the barriers to timely emergency response and explore solutions that could truly support those in need.

Out of this heartfelt journey, RJ Response Services was born. The organization has made incredible strides, reducing the time it takes for someone in distress to connect with a responder from minutes to just 20 seconds. This means that fully trained responders are there to listen, understand, and mobilize support almost immediately, providing comfort during moments of urgency. Rob's passion for helping others led to a focus on individuals in the Community Alarm scheme, especially those without reliable key holders for emergency situations.

He also developed a Digital Network in collaboration with Jersey Telecom, ensuring that support can extend beyond the home to reach people wherever they may be. This innovative system not only connects individuals to responders swiftly but also allows responders to know their precise locations, ensuring that help is not just quick but effective. For Rob's family member, this means the ability to enjoy simple pleasures, like tending to her garden, without the fear of being unable to call for help if she needs it.

For older and more vulnerable individuals, this newfound sense of security fosters the ability to engage in activities they may have avoided for years, leading to better health and well-being. The emotional benefits are profound, allowing individuals to regain their confidence and experience a more fulfilling life.
